Short Stay Business visas are for individuals or groups who are travelling to Australia to conduct meetings or visits related to their current work. A business visa will usually take approximately 10 working days to decide. However, this will vary based on the need to conduct medical and other background checks. The length of stay permitted on the business visa will be structured depending on your itinerary but the maximum a business visa will be granted for is three months.
Your source of income, while travelling, must continue to come from your home company. You can not earn any income from the local party while in Australia. You are also not permitted to engage in any activity that would attract remuneration if conducted by an Australian citizen.
Depending on your age, length of stay and proposed activities, applicants may be required to meet certain health and character requirements.
Holders of business visas may have an 8503 condition imposed on their visa meaning they will not be permitted to apply for any visa extension once they have arrived in Australia.
Family members are permitted to accompany you on your business trip provided they obtain the appropriate visa.
